This is one of the older pieces in the exhibition in Mexico, inspired by the artist’s first trip to Las Vegas in the mid-90s. In Las Vegas the collision between the neon signage and the native petroglyphs led to this series. The western series of work led to Smith’s first solo show in New York City and to date is the best-selling series that the artist has ever created. The piece is a multimedia work and from the looks of it – everything in the studio was involved in the creation of this piece. Jay Leno owns a piece from this series. The content of this piece is self-evident.
